This class is for parents and caregivers with children from birth to preschool.

Little Folkies is a multi-award winning early childhood folk music program for kids ages 0-5. Little Folkies Family music class welcomes babies, toddlers, and preschoolers along with their grown-ups to come together every week to sing together like one big family band! There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger play activities, hand movements, fun lap songs, call and response singing, and hands-on jamming with shakers and wooden kids instruments. The teachers play guitar and engage students with finger play, hand movement, singing, dancing, rhythmic play and instrument jamming. The classes boost creativity, help develop speech and language, fine and gross motor skills with simple lyrics and repetition. Enjoyable for both kids and parents, featuring a 4-volume collection of songs now out on Smithsonian Folkways!
  • The Little Folkies music classes are pure fun and enjoyable for both kids and parents! More info at www.littlefolkies.com
Our talented teachers engage kids and adults with finger play, hand movement, singing, dancing, and instrument jamming.
Every child is musical, in fact we are all music at the core. Here at Little Folkies
we encourage everyone to sing with voice they have. You do not need to be
a trained musician to make good music.
All you need is your voice, hands and feet, rhythm and some good songs to sing. Your child will love listening to you singing the melodies, tapping the beat and doing the movements; and soon enough they’ll be singing and moving along themselves!

  • Making music helps encourage rhythm, allows for joyful self-expression, and provides consistent opportunities for socialization. It also relieves stress and increases bonding for everyone, while supporting holistic development. Music-making also improves neuroplasticity (the brain's ability to form new pathways as a result of "experiences", or learning, through influences such as sound, sensation, movement, and attention). Please Note:

    - Registration includes one child and one caregiver.
